Procyclidine is used to help with movement-related side effects caused by some antipsychotic medications. It can also be used as an early treatment for Parkinson's. The medicines orphenadrine and trihexphenidyl are very similar to procyclidine but not as common.

Procyclidine is used in Parkinson's disease and drug induced abnormal movements. Procyclidine is a muscle relaxing medication. It works by decreasing the activity of excess acetylcholine in the brain. This improves muscle control and reduces stiffness.

It is used along with other medications to help treat stomach/intestinal disorders (such as ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, bowel infections). Clidinium helps to reduce the symptoms of stomach and intestinal cramping
